Dear DR 1:

Hello - We live in the DR and I am looking for information on career, diplomas programs offered in English at the universities or technical colleges. Our Grade 12 son is soon to graduate from Carol Morgan and wants to stay here. Unfortunately his Spanish is not good enough to study in Spanish but I have heard that some (?) of the universities offer a few degree/diploma/career programs in English. I believe Medicine is offered in English somewhere here? Is there anything else> '

Many thanks - this message board provides a great service.

Unibe caters to English-speaking foreigners in its medical school. The university's web site URL does not seem to work (www.unibe.edu.do), so try to reach the medical school dean at ju.castano@codetel.net.do, or call the school at Tel. 689-4111

Students are required to have a working knowledge of Spanish as they advance in their career in order to interact with patients.

Their dentistry program may also offer facilities to English-speaking students.
