In your opinion which is the best company at the moment? This is what I am looking for:

1. An e-mail address attached to the cellular phone (very important)
2. Good, reliable service (important)
3. Able to "pause" the service when I leave the country for a couple of months
4. Good deal on a cellular when Signing up.
5. Need to call 150-200 minutes a month, 99 % within DR.

Looking forward to your opinions.

I have only experience of Verizon and Orange, as we have both.
And both services are good, have never had any problems at all.

1. No problem.
2. No problem.
3. Have no idea, as I don´t do it. I don´t think you can do this if you want to take your phone contract and have invoice every month.
The lowest you sign up for is 18 months.
4. Many good deals now.
5. They have different plans, you chose what is best for you.

Additional just for info, to be able to have a plan ( i.e invoice ) you need to have an adress here, a landline, and a cedula.
If not, you need 1) 2) and 3 references of DR citizens.

I have used verizon, orange and actually Im using centennial.

Centennial has the best customer service but they need to expand their coverage to more provinces.

If you are planning to pause the plan so you need a pre paid plan, you wont loose the number if you activate the service in about 2 or 3 months.

In my case Orange has problems whit the signal that is weak and you loose it in so many places, they are the only company here that use GSM tecnology, so if you want to change company you will need to buy a new one phone, the rest use CDMA Tecnology.

Centennial and Orange are the only companies that give you and e mail account for free attached to you number (your number@centennialrd.net in my case) as centennial?s user.

I never has used Tricom services.

here the sites so you can check plans, prices and coverage
