I've seen a lot of people spelling it these two ways. I'm pretty sure its Macoris, but I have seen it spelled Marcoris a lot too...??? Anyone can verify?

It's Macoris.
Some of the locals have a tendency to add letters to words, like "S" & "R" and they sometimes substitute "L" for "R", just to name a few.

Ok, Thanks. That's what I thought it was.

Originally it was spelled 'Macorix'. (Early XVI century - Fray Ram?n Pan?, Padre Bartolom? de Las Casas, ...)

You'll also find near the area from at least Boca Chica east they don't say the Macoris part at all and call it San Pedro.

In the east region is most common to say San Pedro, but usually some people says macoris too.

In the north is San Francisco de Macoris too, and some people says macoris too.
