hi, we are going for the first time next week and might be looking for a beach where there may possible be to go topless and/or more.....any suggestions?

You should be able to go topless on most, if not all, the beaches in the DR. All nude is another issue, you can try here:
If you are staying in an AI check their policy or try for a very secluded beach. I wouldn't suggest going topless on any of the public beaches since this is island has a very high % of people who are Catholic and public nudity isn't really accepted here. Dressing like a pro working the streets, yes - nude on the beach, no.
In front of the Don Juan Hotel in Boca Chica, a sort of mid scale AI (compared to Hamaca) there are many topless tourists. Quite an eyeful at times and not a good eyeful. Nobody seems to mind at all. it is a public beach but the DJ tries to imply they have private territory there, which they don't of course.
