Does it get too cold to go to beaches during january? i assume not but havent been there during that time, also, whats the weather like in january both at beaches, and around jarabacoa?

If you are coming from a country that has cold winters, it will seem like summer to you. Locals shiver but visitors sweat.

Hopefully this January will be better than last when I recall a lot of rainy, chilly weather in Sosua.

This country used to have definite rainy and dry seasons, but this is no longer true.

Think it's right to say that the 2 last januarys in Sosua has been realy bad, with more or less constant rain and overcast for many days in a row, and pretty cold too. Hope this is not a trend, and that this january will be a lot better.
