But...not too far from Santo Domingo city.

I am a Casa de Campo fan, but do not have a deep pocket for it this time. I like a good mix relaxation, good food and people.

Please let me know if you have discovered a gem

When I went to the DR, I went on a one-day excursion to Isla Saona which is a two-hour drive from Santo Domingo. If you are interested, I can leave the info. for you.

The one-day package cost 2,200 pesos (transportation, meal, etc. everything is included).

Isla Saona is a very beautiful island which is located southeast of the country.
