I was in the Dominican Republic last week for the first time and I absolutely love it there. I tried to get out and absorb as much culture as possible in the 4 days that I was there which didn't allow me to do much. I did not stay in my "comfy" all inclusive resort (smile). The "Zona Colonial" area was fascinating to me. It was a great learning experience and I have every intention of going back as soon as time permits. In any event, I was in a store and had the opportunity to taste Mamajuana. It was very interesting. From my understanding, not only is it used as a "male viagra" but it is also used to aid in the cure of flu? I am in the Washington, DC area and I am wondering if there is any place in this area or perhaps in NYC where I can buy some of this. I will be in NYC very soon and any specific help would be greatly appreciated.

Thats good to hear of other Dominicans and people that love DR around this area, im originally from NYC then I moved to Lynn, MA 15 min north of Boston and now im in Northern Virginia only 15 min from DC and MD.
I had a big bottle of mamajuana but it broke a few weeks ago and I'm also in the market trying to find one or someone going to DR and willing to sell me one.
Now I have had live in DR in the past and only tried one type of mamajuna but for what I been told is it true that theres one kind that has vino (wine) tinto and honey in it not just to cure it but mixed with the rum? if so is this combination any good?
Another question I only been to Mana restuarant in MD is this the only DR place to eat good dominican food or can you guys recommend something else? I did hear about Johannas and Corolinas but I went theres one time and it was a big fight and I left dont think ill be going back lol unless I bring my machete.
