Car Rental SDQ

Have you ever driven in the DR? If you haven't , don't.
You can see some ads for National Rent-a-car here on DR1, and also book online for airport pickup.
It is not a good country to drive in if you are not familiar with 3rd world traffic "rules" or have driven maybe with one eye shut in Italy or Montreal.
Plus you are likely to pay more all in than taxis and need to find your own way around which is no picnic.

Where are you actually going from the airport and within the capital?

it's not that bad, especially if you feel restricted when driving in the u.s.
in the d.r., you can have tons of fun!!!!!

i actually prefer driving at night in the capital versus the day.
exact opposite in the rest of the country.

looking forward to my next trip:
2 weeks- picking up the car at sti, north coast to samana, then down to the capital, then to barahona/pedernales and back to santiago.
