And I think I finally got it. "Azucareros" and "Toros" are the same team!?!
I was was confused for so long. When I read the paper I saw 6 teams in the standings.
Tigres del Licey (STO DGO)
Leones del Escogido (STO DGO)
Aguilas Cibae?as (SANTIAGO)
Estrellas Orientales (SAN PEDRO)
Gigantes del Cibao (SAN FRANCISCO)
Azucareros del este (LA ROMANA)
But I knew there was a team called the "Toros". I had to do some serious channel surfing and cross reference with the schedule from the paper before I came to the conclusion: "Azucareros" and "Toros" are the same guys.

Now that the regular season is finished. Does anyone know the playoff schedule? Or if tickets can be purchased online? I plan on being in Santiago on January 3rd (and possibly January 2nd, if there is a game).

What makes it even worse is that they went under the nickname "Vacas". Most likely given by opposing teams fans. Maybe that's why they changed to, or picked up a new name, "Azucareros".
Which BTW I think is a cool Dominican name for a team. Tigers, lions, eagles you can find anywhere. It's worn out. But "Azucareros" they kick a$$.
And they are easy to root for, as I usually go for the underdog. As far as I know they never won anything.....................

Just read in todays paper Azucareros actually won once. Still makes them the underdog in the playoffs. Licey and Aguilas each has 18 championships and Escogido 13.
Playoffs start Monday. No mention of a schedule in todays paper. :cross-eye
