Supermercado Norteno next to Super-Super have raised their prices of beer. A case of Presidente now is RD$705.00 up 105.00 since yesterday. The price increase was not to take effect untill 2006 but that is another example of greedy business owners. I guess that means the bars will have to up their prices by a least 5.00. I guess one could expect to pay 65 to 70 for a beer now. Still cheap though when you compare it to back home.

If the old price was 600 rd per 24 bottles, then a bottle cost 25 rd which equaled approx 88 cents US, at the 28.5 exchange rate, that we were at for many months.
Now that the rate is 34, that same bottle of beer works out to 86 cents US.
Seems fair to me.
