I was just wondering if anyone could let me know what pay is like in the DR? I know that it depends on the job type and place, but a rough estimate would be a great help.

I am looking for employment in the tourism industry hopefully in the Playa Dorada Complex. I know that the pay isn't the greatest, the hours are long and that the jobs are tiring, and that doesn't bother me. So if maybe someone had an idea about pay for a job in a resort or as a waitress that would be really helpful.

Thanks

Easy Research?

....and I am doing research by asking people....

Well, using the search button is much quicker and more comprehensive.
I do recall similar questions which received quite a number of answers.
Waitresses need to be hard working ....
Expect between 4,000 and 8,000 RD$, very much depending (as you mentioned). Rough estimate (as you wanted).

I agree with the previous person
you can expect from 4-8000 pesos. Perhaps 9,000
I knew of someone who got a job as a tour guide and he got paid 9,000 pesos per month plus full health benefits. He also recieved tips from the tourists.
I also knew of a person who got a job in a hotel entertaining guests on stage
He got paid 20,000 a month.
