Has anybody got any info on putting in the services (electricity, water, gas and telephone) in a new build in Santo Domingo. The house is on an urbanization scheme and has already a water tank sunk into the ground beneath the garage area. Thanks:glasses:

You are talking about a newly constructed house in a new urbanization in Santo Domingo.
You must go to each of the required services and request service.
Ede-Este (probably) for Electricity
CAASD for water
Gas will have to come from your neighborhood propane supplier. You had better talk to your neighbors about who is "best"..
Telephone: If you want a land line (home phone) you will have to visit the offices of Verizon or Tricom. Sometimes Tricom will service an area and sometimes it is Verizon.

All of these people (except the gas guy) will require proper identification, bank references and deposits. You might be required to provide proof of ownership of the house. Be patient, but it will happen.

That "water tank" under the house is a cistern and means that water service or pressure might not be very reliable or consistant. It also means that you need to install a pump and a pressure tank in order to get water to all of your facilities. It also means that you will most likely have to have an emergency generator on site to provide power for your cistern and other electrical uses (And an inverter if you are on the internet or have delicate electrical stuff in the house like TVs, Music equipment and so forth...)
