I'm staying in Puerto Plata and was thinking of bringing a dozen or so deflated soccer balls for kids. 1) Is this a good idea or am I just asking for trouble?
2) Will they be able to INFLATE the balls? and 3) for whom should I do this? ie. hotel employees, locals... Thx

I agree with the baseballs, though they are readily available on the island.
Basketball is much more popular in the DR than Soccer. Nets for the hoops might be nice.
I like the red kick balls you can get for $4 or $5 because they are pretty versatile.
You can buy the pins to inflate the balls by the dozen at sports stores.
Nerf footballs are fun too and they don't need to be inflated.

Baseballs, or deflated basketballs for the Dominican kids, I don't know too many Dominican kids that play soccer, but most play baseball and basketball
