Some of you probably know of, or have heard of, the Cabrera Verde Foundation, formed by concerned locals in the North Coast town of Cabrera to clean up that town and its beaches. For those of you not familiar with it, I invite you to read about them in the latest entry in the Green Team blog, or go directly to their webpage at http://cabrera-verde.com

We'd like to hear from DR1ers if they know of similar initiatives elsewhere in the DR -- where some or all of the local community, takes the initiative to tackle some environmental problem, whether it's street litter, cleaning the beaches, sound pollution, deforestation, whatever. We'd like to give such initiatives positive explosure in the blog, and encourage others to learn from the Cabrera Verde example.

Regards,
Keith
