Best Casino Payouts

We've been looking at the Casinos and wondered if anyone knows any data on the payouts - they can vary widely and we wondered if Jarugua, Melia or InterContinental has a better ROI (return on investment). We usually play blackjack or the highest value slots ($1 or $5, haven't seen too many of those) and just for fun - Matt won $75 here at the IC in 10 minutes on the Slot so that paid for dinner, any tips for newcomers?

Have a great day, Michael

Stay away from progressive Keno. Don't even watch it. Don't even ask about. And most of all, don't try to play it, even with money you don't mind losing. Many have been sucked in and lost big bucks.

It's funny to hear someone talk about ROI in respect to gambling, especially when we are talking about negative numbers.

In answer to you question, unlike Casinos in the US, in the DR they generally don't post their payout rates for their slot machines.

Regarding blackjack, there is not any consistency to the rules. Some casinos hit on soft 17, some don't. Some allow surrender, some don't. The good news is the ones that have surrender, have early surrender, which is much better than late surrender. Some have different rules as to splitting and doubling.

If you are really trying to find your best odds, you need to figure which of the rule changes bring down the house edge; ie: decrease your negative RIO.:)

I agree with Rellosk. Another thing you should do is get to the casino just as it opens. Make sure they display the blakjack decks before they load the shoe the first time. It is house advantage to remove as many of the 10's as they can get away with. For example, American Casino at Jack Tar in POP displays all the decks in order before they are shuffled the first time. Paradise Casino in POP refuses. The cards are already preshuffled when they open.

ROI.... ha ha ha

in games of skill...how can it even be measured....there are no odds really in blackjack..its skill and luck.... they have rules and someplaces may have better rules for the player.

but I think the only way to win is to have an attitude that you could care less if you loose!.... bring enough money , and dont worry about loosing,......and you will probably win more.

I see people that NEED money very bad and they go to the casino.. and HAVE to win... and they just keep on pulling more out of their pocket all night!!!!!!

I see my gf change her strategy when her pile of chips goes down to a certain level....thats when i buy more chips for her.....she needs to look at that huge pile of chips and figure she can afford to bet HER way.... and she gets rolling......

thats my THEORY

Great replies, thank you so much! We'll definitely get there when they open. Thanks about mentioning the payoffs aren't often listed, we were looking and couldn't find it. Usually the higher slots have better payoffs, so we were thinking of finding the most "expensive" or "upscale" place where they might have the $5 or $10 machines.

Thought you'd like the ROI idea - my Dad considers the Stock Market a Casino too. :)

Great community here! Thanks again, Michael

I have never heard of those casinos... they must be in Santo Domingo?????

I dont know why anyone would want to feed a slot machine for hours.....I let my gf's mother and sister play and it was ALWAYS just a matter of time before they came over to the roulette table, with no more slots left!!!!!!!!!

and its boring

even a casino with faster payouts on the slots...will have them set for a huge amount before it returns a payout......

black jack is a place where with skill you can manipulate the odds to win often

my buddy plays BlackJack in CT all the time and he usually comes home up anywhere from $600 to $2500.....he wins money 3/4 of the visits he goes there........

I know people as well who tell 'tall tales' I'm just not naive enough to bite hook, line and sinker!

Every gambler I know brags about their big wins, but what they don?t tell you is about their losses.

I know what the odds are playing blackjack, and they are not in the players favor, unless you can count a 4 deck shoe!

Odds are odds and you can't beat the odds for long!!! And if you believe you can, you?re a moron!

I have to agree. That's why poker has become the most popular casino game in many casinos. You are no longer playing against house odds. You hope your skill is better than the other players plus the house rake. So you need to beat at least his skill plus 5% to make money.

well there is no point in bickering about this....he may or he may not tell me about all his losses.....I think he does, because we arent friends because he wins at the casino.

as far as the movie,, I guess you are saying that is fabrication as well

I am not a gambler , even though I go to the casino now days with my gf FOR FUN. so I wont hack back and forth about odds or crap i dont know what i am talking about...... but it seems to me that at any game, if you have a good luck streak going, you ride it till it SEEMS to turn.. then you quit for the night.... I think thats what my buddy does.....if its a bad night he knows right away... and doesnt go deep into his pocket....but in any case i dont care to change your mind.....and even though I am not a gambler....if you are on a roll and want to call me a moron, as well as a liar....go ahead

Blackjack is a very beatable game. Keeping a running count a four deck shoe is not that difficult. Count a posiitive one whenever a 2-6 appears, a negative whenever a 10-A appears. When the running count is negative bet the min and when positive up your bets and play more hands. Without the count the casino has about a 2% win margin, with the count and alternate betting , the player has the odds in his favour. It can be done with a little practice and the odds can be in your favour. Google Search on the MIT blackjack team and you will see that winning 3/4 of the time is doable. tom

Which is why few casinos play with a 4 deck shoe. Most here in the DR play at least a 6 deck shoe. As previously noted, you also have no assurance that the decks are complete in the DR at most casinos.

Agreed - most casinos have a min 6 deck shoot. Only commented on 4 deck as that is what was quoted. Also if the deck is not complete (face cards removed) the odds are greatly tipped in the house's favour so previous advice on this is warranted. tom

ok I dont play black jack...but can you ask for the house to lay out all the cards in the deck face up to make sure they are all there?

i thought I read somepleace that you can ask for that....I think i read that anyway......

but never the less, my buddy does EXTREMELY well playing black jack in the ct casinos.... which make more money than all other casinos in the world (I heard someplace) no matter what the rules, no matter how many decks they use.........in everything in life.. there is alway someone thats the best, the fastest, the smartest, the oldest , the strongest....SOMEONE has to be that in everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because they are on Indian Reservations, as soverign terratory, they pay neither federal or state taxes. Hard for Las Vegas, AC, Reno, etc to compete or compare.

And the rules of probability are the rules of probability. No matter how smart or how lucky, the numbers will alwys prevail in the long run.
