Destination DOMINICAN REPUBLIC (DO)

Passport and visa required.

Minors (applicable only when LEAVING Dominican Rep.):
irrespective of nationality (until 18 years of age),

traveling unaccompanied, or with an adult other than a parent
or legal guardian, or with only one parent, or with a
different person than they entered the country with, must hold
a permit issued in the Dominican Rep. or a letter of consent
issued by representation of the Dominican Rep. abroad.

For information on how to apply for a permit and documentation

required, contact Dominican Rep. representation abroad or the

Director General's Office of Immigration, Santo Domingo.


Visitor must hold:
- return or onward ticket (one-way ticket allowed if born in

Dominican Rep. or if being foreign minor, but travelling
with parents who are nationals of Dominican Rep.); and

- all documents required for next destination.


Persons born in the Dominican Rep. are considered nationals of

the Dominican Rep., regardless if having another nationality.

Passenger must hold documents required for nationals of the

Dominican Rep.
Exempt are: female passengers who have obtained another
nationality by marriage.


Non-compliance with entry regulations will result in

deportation on same aircraft and carriers will be fined USD

1,000.- for transporting passengers with improper documents.

how did you go?? you didnt just turn up at the DR waving a print out from the UK website??

ive looked at other embassy sites as well and they are inconsitant on who can use the tourist card or not as well.

We inquired to the UK consulate for you. This is what we were told:

"New Zealand nationals may travel to the Dominican Republic with tourist cards. They may purchase them through the UK embassy prior their travel. Also, we could issue them a letter stating that they may travel with tourist cards, as this information is not very clear being that they changed the law quite recently."

I have written to Gabriela... one catch is that although i am a NZer, i am not in the UK. I hope that this will be OK still ...

went to the D.R and came back. Tourist cards are all New Zealanders need.
