Live Music in Santo Domingo?

again...i ask this as i will be in SD next weekend....2/25.

I would really like to find some good live music in SD. Doesnt have to be a famous bachetero (that would be nice tho)...but i would like to hang out and here some good LIVE music.

I am guessing somewhere on the malecon will have something....but if someone has some good tips i would sure appreciate it.

Best live music

Try Merengue Bar in the Jaragua Hotel after about 10:00PM each night. They have an excellent show with a brass band.

not for dancing,
but Casa de Teatro has a troubador most nights, on the Arz. Merino in the Colonial zone.
gets pretty repetitive after a while though.
