NYC to POP

Hi Everyone -

I was just reading some older posts about direct flights to and from NYC and Puerto Plata. Just so I understand, are there any direct flights any longer? If so, when are they? Any reason for the exodus?

Of course, Santiago is an option, but that hour drive can be tough.

Has there been any talk of any other airlines beginning direct routes to POP? Jet Blue, Delta or American?

Someone mentioned that AA just dropped their non-stop flight.

American................

has dropped POP from direct flights as of May 2006...........and no matter how fast or slow you drive..................it's 1-1/2 hour (not 1) to the STI airport from Puerto Plata.
