He better show up considering the cheapest tickets started at 2,000.00 RD.

We bought ours on Wednesday and there were only four left at the Bella Vista ticket selling site (Verizon store). I am sure the concert sold out in 3 to 3 1/2 days after tickets went on sale.

Maybe Sting wanted to scope out some property in Casa de Campo and figured he may as well make the money to buy it while he was looking. ;)

Aventura did show - I have some friends who went. They said it was a good concert.

I think Marc Antony is supposed to have a concert there as well. Quite impressive acts they are getting for what is a pretty small venue compared to many N. American concert sites.

I also hear all the Sting tickets are sold out.
Looking at his web site, he's a busy boy :)

Did Aventura ever show up on March 25th?
The only place that you will be able to see these guys will be in jail after the Honduran finish with them.

Will give a report on the "Sting" concert tomorrow night. Bought "front row seats" for my brother and his wife ...so they should be able to give a real good report after the show.

It was an amazing concert. He is a wonderful performer who enjoys being on stage and his musicians were outstanding. I really loved the two surprise performers who joined him at the end.

JLG, now that's cool. Sting I can take or leave, apart from when he was with the Police, which I liked. Did he do Police songs as well as the solo stuff?

PS Could it have really been him on Av. de la Salud?

Sergio Vargas (sp?) was the other performer. Sting did mostly his older songs. It was a great night and it actually started on time so we didn't have as late a return time to the capital as I was afraid would happen. I've still had to have two cups of coffee so far at work today though. :knockedou It was so worth the money.

Ps - when I saw him come out on stage I thought about whether or not it was him - I can't say for sure but I wouldn't be surprised if it was - one of the guys did look like him I think

Sergio Vargas??? HUHHH

I don't mean to diss Sergio fans but I don't see Sergio into Sting's music. I've always known sergio as a Merenguero and Baladista.

Ohh well - para el gusto se hicieron los colores.

I see from the news it is Fella Vargas, evidently something was interferring with my hearing/thought process by the end of the evening.

Highlight of the show.....

...was when the song "Desert Rose" was sung and they brought out 9-10 Dominican gals and one other "Canadian"/Anglo" gal to dance.....the Dominican girls were dancing and the "Canadian/Anglo" spent her "moments of fame" trying to put "rabbit ears" behind Sting's head. Amazingly stupid.

...of course it was probably AZB that put her up to that.......

Sting may have never been to the Dom Rep before but I doubt that he will forget this concert and the warm reception he received...hope that "message in a bottle" transpires into more mainline artists for visits in the future.
