Hi to anyone reading,

I am coming to DR in June, I will be staying at Playa Doroda. I am looking for information and tips from anyone in the know.

I have a few questions:-

1: I love to dance so enjoy a good club, could anyone recommend some good ones?

2: Could anyone recommend some day trips?

3: Does anyone know where I will be able to watch the Football World Cup as it starts during my holiday. Sad I know but I loooooove a good game of footie.

Some help

Puerto Plata has many clubs where you can dance. There is a few tipicos in Monte Llano where you can dance to merengue, bachata and salsa, plenty of willing dance partners are waiting for you. Sosua has a few clubs that have music that ranges from European techno and American club music to the top merengue, bachata and salsa. Again, no shortage of dance partners.

Day trips:

The cable car ride to the top of Isabel de Torres in Puerto Plata.
Day trips to Santiago and Puerto Plata.
Sosua and Cabarete Beach.
Gri Gri lagoon and Playa Grande.
Safari rides, rafting, horse back rides, and hikes through the campo.
Deep sea fishing, lots of water sports.
Wind surfing and kite boading in Cabarete.
Fun City just outside of Playa Dorada, go carts and bumper cars.
Ocean World just outside of Puerto Plata.

Eddy's Sports Bar in Sosua has all of the European Football you would ever want. Big screen TVs and ice cold drinks mixed with Eddy's hospitality and sense of humor.
