NALs I live in Vancouver and I can't understand why some people would rank it number 1. To live in a decent house in my part of town the price tag is 1 million, a beer at the local bar is 6 bucks, taxes are through the roof, the provincial government is corrupt and spending money that they don't have like a drunken sailor and right now I'm looking out the window at the driving rain which is par for the coarse 9 months/year. I want to live in the DR PLLLLEEEAASE.

Well, if Vancouver is how you say it is, neither would I.

But, sometimes what we see could be misleading? Hmm, oh well...

In any case, DR is runner up for Caribbean country of the future. Here, take a look:

On the other hand, it does not surprise me that Havana ranks at the bottom of the list for quality of life. Sad, but true.

If they would have considered the beauty of the women und the good climate in their stupid report, then the ranking would be like this:
1) Santo Domingo
2) Rio de Janiero
3) Havana, Cuba
4) Cali, Colombia
.
.
.
.
.
75) Vancouver, Canada
.
.
84) Zurich, Switzerland
.
.
89) Vienna, Austria

Great way to question the value of this list Andy!
I've searched their website, but they tell nothing about their methodology, which data they've used to base their ranking on. It's made for expats, but who's going to base any decision on a list like that?

Sounds like NDP whinning. The quality of life as these people measure it, is not the same standard that many of us would use. If they included small cities for example cities from 75,000 people up, the list would look much different. And Vancouver taxes are much small than Winnipeg, Toronto...etc.

If I had to move from Calgary, IMO - the greatest city - the only other city I feel I could happily move to would be Vancouver.

This report was geared more to multinational corporations.

The website does states its methodology.
