Anyone know if there are plans to reinstate a vehicular ferry between Samana and Sabana de la Mar?

My information is incorrect. I was told there had been a car ferry that had made the trip.Ken said:
idiotic govt left it docked at sabana de la mar about 5 or 6 years ago. the locals totally destroyed it and stripped it of anything valuable. last time i was there, the ferry was no longer there. maybe they purposely sunk it in the bay. forget that ferry. also the dredging of sabana de la mar looks as though it was stopped a while back as well. there won't be any car ferry this decade for sure.

Ya I know that everbody dropped the ball on this one. I heard it capsized.....ya right. Also I read somewhere that an Italian company is interested in ressurecting the car ferry.
