The RIU hotels are 5 minutes from Cofresi/Costambar and about 10 minutes from Puerto Plata town, sort of isolated but there is lots to do in the hotel complex. The hotel will have many activities, there are also many excursions to buy but you should try and get out from the confines of the All inclusive resort and see some of the town and surrounding areas. Rent a cab for a day or take a ride to Sosua and Cabarete. check out the waterfalls (Damagua falls) if you're fit.
First thing to do is to do a SEARCH on this site and on www.debbiesdominicantravels.com for the RIU hotels.
Next you do a search for "POP-things to do"
Next, you look up DAMAJAGUA FALLS
Next, you look up posts by "SLIVER GHOST" and then posts by Silver Ghost.
Pointers: RIU is about 10 or 12 klicks west of POP on the highway to Navarrete and Santiago. It is like that for a reason.

Go to Ocean World, a must.
