What is the best (read cheapest) way to get a group of students out here from Miami around the end July, beginning August? We've done all the searches on cheaptickets.com or orbitz or so on and the prices are unbelievable.

I know what you mean. You can try contacting the airlines directly. They usually have group rates. Not sure how it works but I've seen people get group rates when it's over 5 people.

yes. Spirit is your best option. hopefully Jetblue will start flying from FLL soon.

How many? if you had say 45, it might be cost effective to charter a regional jet with about that capacity. Not sure of the range however.

Check US Airways from FLL, they have very good group fares and group check-in options, even in high season they have very good fares.
