I am considering moving here in June or July with my fiance and my 2 children,
12 & 14 years old. (From the US) We will be checking out different areas in May and I wanted to know the best areas for my needs...more secluded, nice neighborhoods with children to play with and of course good schools. I don't mind walking to stores and definetely want to be near the beach. Any input or additional info would be greatly appreciated. Also, do you have to pay for all schools in English and would they allow me to home school?
thanks,
kel

I don't really know what you mean... but schools where teaching is done in English are all "col?gios", private schools that require school fees, very much depending on quality and reputation.

I am from the US and will soon be moving to the DR. I recently came across these homeschool support group in the DR. http://www.homeschoolersinmissions.org. http://www.homeschoolmedia.net/register/index.phtml Try these links maybe they might be of some help. I don't know anything about them, so I am not reccomending any of these. You would have to check them out for yourself. Do you current homeschool? I homeschool here in the US and it is wonderful.
