The other day I came across a blind man in Nagua.
Tom?s Almanzar suffers from "distrof?a de fush" which began four years ago and resulted in blindness in December 2005.

I understand the desease destroys the seeing cells and the transplant of a cornea could restore ability to see.

During all the family's efforts to help their father their house was sold, loans taken up and now they are in debt of about 300,000 RD$.

An estimate for an operation (Centro de Microcirug?a Ocular y L?ser, S.D.) reads approx. 83,000 RD$, of which about 30,000 RD$ were raised by friends and the school were Tom?s used to work.

Thus approx. 53,000 RD$ or about 1,650 US$ are needed to pay for the cornea transplant of the right eye (the left one is diagnosed to be beyond cure).

Anyone who can contribute to Tom?s' operation or wants to know further details may please contact me.

I took pity of a young haitian man, watchman of my tower.
He almost had no teeth.
Went to local dentist for estimate for new artificial teeth.
Sent the watchman to get his mouth fixed. My bill US$ 800. (plastic dentures, not ceramic)
How much do you think the dentist contributed to this project?????

NADA!!

How much will your ophtamologist contribute? Does he drive a Cayenne?
