Tax question

Hi everyone!

I have a question. My boyfriend is coming from the U.S and he's bringing 2 laptops with him (his 'old' one and a new one he got for my dad), will he have to pay taxes?

Probably not, assuming they both look used. If they ask him questions, he should tell them they are both required for work he needs to do while he is on vacation. I'm sure he can make up some convincing reason why he needs two.

Make sure it's not in the box. If you have an old beat-up carrying case, put it in that case.

Even though I think there are no longer any taxes on computers, if they check your bags and think you are bringing a new computer for a gift, they may try to charge you taxes.
