26-year old Dominican Victor Nu?ez will be playing for Costa Rica in the World Cup opening game today against Germany. Nu?ez received his Costa Rican citizenship that enabled him to play with Costa Rica only this year. In Costa Rica he plays for the C.S. Cartagines team. He has been living in Costa Rica for around 13 years.

Unfortunately he's not in the starting line up. Hopefully he'll get a chance to play today or the following games.

Originally from the Dominican Republic, Victor 'El Mambo' Nunez received his Costa Rican passport in early 2006, and was swiftly drafted into the national squad for the friendly with the Korea Republic on 10 February.
On a debut to remember, it was Nunez who won the penalty that led to Costa Rica?s winning goal. A quick and skilful frontman with a mean eye for goal, he led the domestic goalscoring charts in 2000/01 and has consistently been among the top marksmen in the Costa Rican league.

Ice-cool in his finishing and gifted on the ball, Nunez can also play off a target man as the second striker.

Thanks Dolores...I'm watching the game right now...Hope he gets to play soon!
