Default Investment in Las Terrenas' Airport

doesn't make much sense to me with El Catey Airport so close and a back road going along coast from el catey to las tarrenas. some of the nbrs they talk about seem ridiculous. 50 flights per day into that little dirt runway??? sounds like political b.s. to me.

What's with this coastal road concept. That terrain is pretty up and down. Is that a load of crap or what???

    Cool

The new highway from the el Catey airport to Las Terrenas is actually more of the Santo Domingo-Samana highway which will actually pass out the peninsula and behind Las Terrenas as it continues on to el Limon, del Vallee, Rincon and finally to it's end just outside Las Galleras. It will follow the lower, natural terrain as much as possible as it winds its way out to the very northeastern end of the island. The section of the new road from the Sanchez highway to the turn-off on the Samana-el Limon-LT road past el Portillo has been there for some time now, but not paved.

I can believe 40 to 50 flights per day currently operating out of the el Portillo strip. In addition to Aerodomca's scheduled flights for service to Santo Domingo and other island airports, there are a lot of hourly sightseeing flights of both fixed and rotary wing aircraft using the airport.
