Nothing out of POP.
Air Cubana leaves from Santo Domingo at least twice a week, maybe more.
The fly to Santiago De Cuba, as well as Havana.
As best as I know, the prices are not cheap.
I think it's approx $400 to Havana, but not sure.

thank you for your responses id really like to visit b4 Castro dies

It is very interesting that you will make that statement because many people actually share the opposite view. Most people (at least in the USA) would prefer to visit when he leaves and it is understandable because of the restrictions

About 2 years ago, a friend of mine indicated his interest to visit cuba and I advised him that he needs to see the REAL cuba before castro goes. He went, he came back and he thanked me. The thing is that Castro has managed ( even in his madness) to preserve some natural elements of that country which you will probably not see anywhere else in a fairly decent country. It is about stark contrasts of the past, present and future and about stepping back into time once awhile.

When Castro goes, a lot of the natural elements of that country will be lost forever and the country will be overun by over-commercialised tourism but the important thing is that it will be a much better place for the cuban people when he leaves.
