Today, at about 8:15 in the morning, musician, comic, TV host, Milton Pelaez was killed by a gunshot wound. the details are not clear as yet.

This man was a wonderful composer of satirical merengues in the 70s and 80's. He wrote, things like "Comisiones, comisiones, comisiones, para que??" and "De la casa al trabajo, del trabajo al la casa. Y despues ?e?e??, ?e?e??,?e?e??~~"
And perhaps his most famous one was "Ropa, Zapatos, Casa y Comida"

Sad day for a lot of people.

Here is the report from Diario Libre:

http://www.diariolibre.com/app/article.aspx?id=71352

According to the report, Milton went to collect a debt from a "friend".

The "friend" was the one who shot and killed Milton, but he is saying that it was an "accident".

According to the unofficial police report, the killer alleges that he had a loaded and cocked 9mm pistol hidden inside a magazine tucked under his arm, and that when he tried to chase away a dog sniffing at the victim, the gun dropped away from under his arm, and when he tried to catch it in mid-air the gun discharged, shooting a bullet in the middle of the victims chest.

What a strange case/situation. First it is reported that Pelaez went to his friend's house in order to collect some money owed by this friend. Then the friend reports that actually he called Pelaez because he needed some advice, but then his dog got a little agressive and trying to free Pelaez from the dog, his gun "accidentaly went off", killing Pelaez instantly. Wow! And if he simply wanted some "advice", why in the world did he need a loaded gun? Was he intending to shoot his own dog? One would think the dog would obey its master without any need to see a gun. This is very, very strange tale. To say the least.

But, if he invited Pelaez to his home, why did he need to have that loaded gun inside the magazine? What was he expecting? HMMM!

Police chief Santana Páez is asking for patience.

CSI: Santo Domingo?? the angle of the gunshot should tell just where the gun was at the time it went off.

there are a lot of versions going around.

too many questions...

Only a dominican can come up with such a ludicrous excuse and then stand in court upset with the world that noone believes him. And there will be a few idiots who will find this sorry tale completely plausible. And it just so happens that he needed a concealed 9mm to chase away a dog JUST AS his friend came to collect a huge debt.

I just read a report which mentioned the address where the killing took place. We used to live on that same street.:paranoid:
