There are a lot of Dominican people in Logan and SLC. Check out Tropicana and some of the other Latino dance spots you will bump into them. It's a small but tight group. And there is always one or two you can locate through the University of Utah. I know there is one there now in Engineering from UASD.
Needless to say, most Dominicans there are Mormon or defected Mormons. If you don't have an issue with that then you will fit in just fine. Makes for a good, and clean, party scene.
If you can get a hold of Tony, he can plug you right in. He's good folks and down for a party. He always has a secret Brugal stash. His wife Maritza is mad cool too if you are ever down to eat a homecooked meal.
