Delta has a fare sale from New York to Santiago (US$99) and Santo Domingo (US$139). The NY price is good. Of course all the airport charges and taxes need to be levied on top of these fares.

I called Delta last night for STI-JFK and JFK-STI for August and going back to DR right before Christmas and the prices they gave me were between $1,300 - $1,600. The length of stay must have been too long to get the sale price.

These flights are generally cheap for September travel after labor day. $300 on average JFK-STI, anything before that expect to pay $400 - $500+

They are one way. Double it and add about $120 for the actual cost
