While in the DR watched a local picking large "woodlice" or else some form of "sea cockroach" looking things off the rocks with a knife...asked what the heck they were and answer was "I don't know word for you but good for fish". Not sure if he meant good for CATCHING fish or good for eating WITH fish but not seen those in any shore I've visited before...any ideas??? (Sorry, but I like to learn!) ATB!! Emma ;)

He was picking "Limpets" off the rocks with his knife. They stick down so well with their cone-shaped shells that you only have one chance to get them off with a knife! They are excellent bait for fish. I've seen them doing this in Costambar. Canadian Bob.

It wasn't a limpet though - the shell wasn't "cone shaped". It was oval and hard looking...much like a "woodlouse"! Thanks for the suggestion though. ATB! Emma ;)
