What seer rating are you looking for? And if you had price quotes, what was the cost difference in what warranty are they offering you?;)

Easygoin,
TRANE RHEEM
Living room 24,000 BTU 2,165.00 1,500.00
Main bedroom 12,000 BTU 1,385.00 970.00
Second bedroom 12,000 BTU 1,385.00 970.00
This is all the info I received. Those prices are in US dollars, installation included in an apartment in Cabarete. I have not shopped around yet, thought I would check Ol Faithful, DR1 first.
Thanks

That got a bit scrambled once posted. The first price is Trane and the second is Rheem.
Thanks

Well, the duct work is already "plummed" and they are individual units if thats what you mean.

If I understand correctly, you have three separate units? If so I would go with the rheem and save $1500. They are very good units.;)

Call these guys in santiago they sell both armstrong and airstream. I am sure they will give you mush better prices with excellent installation.

I bought and had installed a 12000 BTU split unit (airstream) from them which has been working flawlessly for 4 years. I paid a lot less that other brands. My friend bought a courier (spelling???)unit from another location and it already broke after a few months.

I agree with AZB, I have had airstream for over 2 years no problems at all. And those prices seem high.

I know of two companies in Puerto Plata both with good pricing and excellent service. PM if youwant contact information.

I recently paid 20,000 RD for a 12,000 BTU Airstream, installed and guaranteed.

You're getting the gringo price!

I paid $27,000 RD/each for two 18,000 BTU Airstream split units, including installation and 1 year warranty. That was in Santiago, a little over 3 months ago.

I think, Airstream is designed by armstrong. Armstrong is in commercial air conditioning business for a long time.
Hipocrito mejia is correct, you are getting gringo prices. The actual prices are way cheaper.
