We will be in POP and Cabarete 12-23 Dec. Close to Christmas will Bars/restaurantsn start closing for the holidays?
1st trip to DR.

Exactly opposite! It is party central here starting around the 15th of December. Place are even open on Christmas Day, New Years day!
