We purchased a car in April this year and took out full casco insurance at the
same time. Today I have been advised that the insurance company "Unika"
has gone bankrupt. I was refunded the last payment but still paid almost
60% of the yearly premium for 3.5 months of coverage.
Does any one know any thing about this bankruptcy and if there is any
recourse to recover some of the premium.
Appreciate all info.

Thanks for your suggestion. I will most likely also post it in "Legal".
At this time I am mainly interested to learn if any one else on this forum
had the same experience with Unika because it is or was a very large
company

I read somewhere that UNIKA's portfolio of insurance holders was taken over by one of the other companies. I'd look into this a bit more with a reliable agent.

Thanks Robert, Hillbilly and Mountainfrog for your information.
I am checking with a new agent today on this situation.
In the meantime I have heard that Unika was or is part of Baninter.
