The Voodoo Lounge is no more. Furnishings being moved out as I write this.

The building belongs to the hotel, and the hotel wanted it back.

I suppose we will soon know what the hotel plans to do with building.

Kinda

You are kinda right. I just called Gary the mgr. and he told me they cut his power (again) this morning and HE decided to shut it down until, and if, they can
renogiatate a different contract. He even is taking the fans out, he's quite p....ed off understandably. Furnishings to Jolly Roger's bar until further notice.
Too bad really, was fun while it lasted.

There will be a re-do of the VooDoo

They ran a good business and it is an asset to Sosua. They will re-open somewhere I am sure.

Goodby and good riddance as far as I am concerned. They weren't willing to control the volume, keeping people awake who live several blocks away.

Not sure what the true story is. My source said electricity cut by hotel because they want the building back.

I was going to say, I'll bet you're crying over that

Heehaw from the great State of Texas!! Kind of of remind me of the story about the young bull and old bull on top of the hill looking down at a bunch of steers.....well you know the story and the moral of the story.
These guys started out not being sociably responsible. Perseverance by the locals was the key to their demise. Good news.

I doubt their demise had anything to do with El Neptuno residents, I am sure the landlord wants a higher paying tenant.

Why did you have to quote me

You are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. These people have always been good to me. Sorry the music is so loud. But really, did you have to use my post as a spring board to make your point?

Any further development on that cement monstrosity that was supposed to be their Casino? They needs to be knocked down or finished.

I've heard that now that owners have settled their differences and divided the hotels between them that the casino will finally be finished. Hope this is true, and that it happens so. It truly is a cement monstrosity and they also destroyed the park that was previously a pleasant, cool place on a hot day.

What hotel did the Voodoo Lounge belong to? Excuse my ignorance butwhat/who is El Neptuno? How long was the Voodoo Lounge around? I know that I read somewhere last year that they were showing movies in the evenings. Now I guess people will have to go elsewhere to watch movies. Speaking of movies? Is there a movie theatre in or around Sosua(just curious)

Thanks.

I understood that the Voodoo Lounge closed just recently, which is where my questions were being addressed, but thanks for informing me about the archives, which I will most definitelyl look into, but for now if anyone has any answers to my questions, thanks very much in advance.

The Voodoo Lounge is attached to The Sosua Bay Hotel, can you guess which hotel owns the property?

There are movie theaters in Santiago as well as Playa Dorado and Puerto Plata.

Amazing how the search function on DR1 functions!

Thanks so now I know, I have heard of the Voodoo Lounge, I think that I may have walked by it once, but couldn't pinpoint where it was actually, we usually walk in the other direction, since that is where our accommodations are.
You are right the DR1 search function is amazing and fast too, lol.

Thanks

Have you ever been to the main Sosua Beach?

It's on the right hand side directly across the street from the side entrance to La Roca. You are really not missing much, well maybe the FREE screening of "Gone with The Wind" on Tuesday nights, or the cheesey 80's Disco blaring at 2AM.

I was informed that the owners were already on their way out to open a 'gentleman's club' in one of the scuzier areas..........(please be gentle - no verbal attacks)
