There is a store in Puerto Plata that sells the European/popular/very efficient roof-water-tank heaters. It is a paint-store, located directly across the street from Ferritera Brugal. Sorry I don't remember the street name.. Canadian Bob

He took care of one for me. $1200.00 USD installed. Works great, I am not sure how big the roof tank is, but I've had 8 visitors and never ran out of hot water.

Also cut my electric bill by 25%. Someone would invariably leave the hot water tank switched on.
