I read the article, it was one of two articles concerning Dominicans.

The first and most anticipated article titled: "A New Place in the Sun" dealt with the upsurge in upscale tourism in the DR and how the DR is giving other prominent up scale destinations (such as Puerto Rico) a run for their money.

The article was based on the opening of the new Tortuga Bay resort in the Puntacana Beach Resort and Club.

The article also mentioned other up scale projects such as Roco Ki and Cap Cana and the turning tide occuring in Dominican tourism moving from bargain all inclusives to not so cheap up scale tourism.

The article also does a nice job in pin pointing what lead to the rapid development of the all inclusive tourism model that is very popular in the DR.

There were some photos. A large photo dominated the two page article, the photo was of one of the holes along the sea of the Las Canas golf course in Los Corales, Punta Cana.

At the lower part of the article was several smaller photos. One was of a farmer selling platanos on the side of a road, another of a young man hearding cows in his motorcycle, another one depicted Fernando Rainieri when he was overlooking the coastline around Miches from a choper, and then a couple of other photos of a room and massage parlor at Tortuga Bay.

All in all, a favorable article for the DR.

The second article (which was rader unexpected, at least to me it was) was located in the Real Estate section of the New York Times. The article was titled : "Leaving New York, With Bodega in Tow". The article mentions the increasing number of Dominicans who are moving out of Upper Manhattan and moving to Reading, Pennsylvania in order to take advantage of cheaper costs of living and housing. It also mentions the increasing positive impact Dominicans have been having on the local economy of Reading as many Dominicans are opening businesses in Reading ranging from bodegas to restaurants and salons among others.

Again, this was a positive article about Dominicans in the U.S.
