Does anyone know a qualified engine specialist (or repair center) in Santo Domingo?

The 1997 Chevy Blazer which I drive becoming harder and harder to start lately, and the mechanic who does (quite good) all regular work on my car says that this is too complicated engine for him to deal with...

Not that hard....did he check for fuel pressure? those babies are notorious for pumps going bad. If it isn't a fuel system problem and soley a "hard start" issue- have him check your crank position sensor.

No, he does general mechanics work - break pads, changing water pump, etc..., quick and reasonably priced, works on Japanese motors (Honda's, etc..) but for some reason does not want to deal with GM engines. I agree that this should not be that hard, but need to find someone who can actually do it without misadjusting everything. My own knowledge of the car engines is quite theoretical, so DIY option is not very attractive here either...
