Does anyone know if a Kyocera 2135 CDMA phone will work with Verizon in the Sosua area? In other words, can I bring this phone from the states and have minutes put into it at say Playero?

Thanks.

Drro, yes you can. Veriozon works on CDMA (code devision method acess) frequency. You can hook it up and pay as-you-go (prepaid). If you have a
GSM (global system mobile) you can hook it up with Orange on a prepaid plan also. I like CDMA system better than GSM. Better signal from Verizon than Orange..

Drro, the server says you're not accepting PM's. Therefore, here goes: In my opinion, you should buy your cell in the States. They're much cheaper here.
another option available to you: You can rent a phone while you stay in Sosua. My humble opinion, go with CDMA phones. Have fun !

Thanks Zeus. I found a Motorola T300P CDMA on Ebay that I'm watching, sounds like it'll do the deal. I don't want to rent a phone as I hope to be often in Sosua.
