Am I able to chatch red Snappers, or Groupers surf fishing in Santo Domingo, or do I have to travel far north for that type of fish. If so am I able to surf fish, I really rather not fish from the boat unless I ABSOLUTLEY have too.
even if you could...i am not sure you would want to ...the ocean water is pretty nasty. The shore is mainly rocky and what little tiny parts of beach are horribly polluted.
there are some areas near by that have pleanty of local fishermen. Befriend a pescadoro in either boca chica or juan dolio...and i am sure they will share their spots with you. Allthough...most of them either use nets or even spears.
THe east side of the beach in juan dolio looks like it might be a good spot. and perhaps around guyacanes.
I am sure others here can help with more specifics (especialy in the north).
