Hi I'm planning to come to pp 2-14-2-28-07 are there any events going on were it would br difficult for me to make reservations at a local hotel.

Unless my calendar is way off, you will be here during the carnival season. Also, the last weekend is Dominican Independence Weekend (27 February).
If you make reservations now, you should not have any trouble. Plan on a visit to Santiago on the 26th so you can see the parades at the Monument...a real show.

Do you think the local Hotels in POP area will have vacancies? We stayed at Portofinos the last time we were there I would like to go there again as option B. My Option A is a safe and comfortable room or rooms in or very close to the malicon. I would like to stay somewhere differant but as a last resort take portofino at the last minute.
