Slight tremors felt in Dominican north region

Santo Domingo.- Slight tremors were felt in the dawn hours on Monday in the Dominican Cibao region, according to various reports as yet unconfirmed by the authorities.

The two separate tremors, whose intensity have yet to be determined, took place at around 6:45 AM, which were also felt in Espaillat (Moca) and La Vega provinces, and the regional capital Santiago, among other cities.

tremors? more like tremens, as from delirium tremens, after a nighful of holliday drinking... Nothing reported in SeismicMonitor

That site only reports about 25% of the tremors in the DR, even some higher than 4.0.

In the past, if you suspect a tremor check the Puerto Rico seismic network

Puerto Rico Seismic Network

and check out the seismographs on the western side of PR, if there is activity at exactly the same minute that there was the tremor you felt, than this graph probably confirms it. I say probably because there may have been a small tremor in PR or eastern caribbean at the same time.

Even small tremors in the DR show up on these graphs, however they do not show location. On another part of that web site they will list some tremors in the DR, more than the IRIS site but not all tremors either.

After we had our 6.5 shaker a few years ago, I checked this graph daily as we had 300 aftershocks in about 10 months. Many 'suspected' tremors could be 'confirmed' using these graphs.
