Diving in Monti Cristi

Hello everyone,
I would like to explore the Monti Cristi area, and also go scuba diving. Does anyone know of a dive shop in that area?
I would be there for the first two weeks of February...is anybody familiar with the weather at that time of the year? Windy, cold water, etc...?

Try the Hostal San Fernando (809-964-0248). I didn't actually go in but I read they were trying to start a dive center and their sign (I was in MC last month) had the "diver flags".

There are several wrecks there, including the "pipe" wreck where there are clay smoking pipes, another is the bottle wreck. Become familliar with Dominican Law before you bring up anything or you may end up in the "pokey"...Canadian Bob
