yes, if you do some homework on how to live cheap. It can be done in the Santiago area. You'll have to be single, and live like a dominican (mostly)...
I moved here 10 years ago making 1,100 a month and lived very comfortably. 10 Years later I have a wife and 8 year old son, make 1,500 a month and still live comfortably. And I don't, in my opinion, live like a Dominican.
