Puerto Plata to Cuba?

Hello!!!

I am going to the Dominican Republic in Febuary for a week with a friend. We were talking about maybe possibly going to Cuba while we are there. Does anyone know of anyway to get there? Should we fly? Take a boat? Can we do it as a day trip, or as a overnight trip? As much info would be awesome! Thanks :)

There are no boats going there and the flights leave from SDQ, not POP.

You won't do justice to either by trying to combine them, but if you must,
fly from Santo Domingo to Santiago de Cuba or Havana. Suerte.
