I have to clarify that the 5.5 Gb memory is all three cards. I took the camera to Europe for a month and shot over a thousand RAW+JPG-fine pictures and used about 4 Gb.

Ah, and the kid eats A LOT. And she doesn't shut up in three languages. :)

Fabulous pic, VERY smart looking child & at least you won't need to ward off undesirable boyfriends when she gets to that age. She looks like she could do it all by herself.......now! :)

Hey Pib I wanna buy your camera.

Been looking for an excuse to get an DSLR for a long time. Since it is clear my wife will not support my dream of becoming an amateur pornographer unless I promise her an exclusive modeling contract I have had to develop an interest in mainstream photography.

Oh well.

I will of course defer to Hillbilly if he wants it too.

have you upgraded to new camera?
Yes, I bought the D80, mostly because it has a bigger CCD and thus slightly better noise control than the D70. I shoot mostly food, with very primitive lighting equipment (luckily I live in a place with good lighting), when it comes to food photography for printing, noise is a big problem. I am actually sad to part with my beloved D70, it is a good camera. If I could afford it I would keep them both, one as a backup.

If you don't do product/food photography, and don't make a living exclusively from photography the D70 is an excellent camera (and I know pros who do have D70s as their main camera).

Funny thing is I got the D80 two days ago and I have had to restrain myself from grabbing the D70 back. I never had a camera I loved better.

This is a photo I took past midnight to test some new lighting scheme I came up with. It is a nightmare lighting condition and yet my sweet D70 did very well.

Of course, you have to remember that a great deal of credit goes to the lens. "It ain't only the camera: it's the glass in front and the glass in the back" holds true here. I suggest that whoever buys it gets a good prime, fast lens. The 50 mm, 1.8 AF is reasonably priced and has very good optics.
