I seen a badge when i was on vacation there which said " privida policia" or something similar anyone able to give me more info on this badge would be helpful.It was a "police style " and i figured maybe private detective? Does anyne know how to become a P.I in the D.R? and what such a title might entitle you to ie; no duty , right to carry?

sounds like a security company to me. any Dominican can carry weapon with right permit, and many do.
